Planes, cabbies, strep throat, barn swallows, and wasps!

It has seriously been a long week.  A week ago today, I left on a 4 day trip to Columbus, OH for a Thirty One conference.  I left my house at 4:30 a.m. which is a huge task in itself...picked up my great friend Sarah and headed to GI to catch our plane.  Sarah was a touch nervous that we weren't going to be there on time...pretty sure she thought I should put the pedal to the metal.  I calmly replied, "oh, they won't leave us.".  Thankfully, they didn't but we did cut it as close as possible!  Oops!

We met up w/ another amazing gal on my team, Kristen, and we had one busy but extremely fun and rewarding time.  It was so awesome to get to know these girls even better and make some memories...w/ cabbies fighting over us, Kristen trying to sell another cabbie a Thirty One bag...maybe that's why she is so successful, and hopping on a free shuttle to a hotel close to ours.  All fun times.  But all three of us were ready to see our hubbies and kiddos by the time Saturday rolled around.  Between the 3 of us we have 12 kids!!:)

While I was gone, poor little Jimi had strep and poor Michael was sooo ready for me to be home!  He is an amazing father.  Seriously...he should win an award or something.  Lilly and Sydney had stayed w/ Aunt Travi(what a brave gal).  Sounds like they were a little homesick but they had lots of fun stories for me.  Thanks Travi!

I got home Sat. night and after a short night of rest, headed to church...Monday morning brought fevers for Lil and Syd and sure enough, they had strep as well.  I was pretty bummed because we had Peggy's baby shower that night and they love Jay and Peggy and their new little baby, Rate.  I was hoping the girls would get to go but I had to head off to the shower w/out them.  It was a great shower.  Jenni's devotional was soooo good..pretty sure there wasn't a dry eye in the whole room...and the room was PACKED!  I feel so blessed to have such an amazing group of ladies around.  I had been waiting for 7 yrs to give Peggy a baby shower and I enjoyed it all!:)

So today, other than taking the hubs some dinner, I have stayed home for the first time in a whole week...and I am loving it!  It's been interesting still.  For some reason the barn swallows didn't think our barn was good enough...they invaded our garage, layed eggs, hatched some babies out, and now they are trying to fly.  So, I keep trying to save the darn things from the dogs each time they fall!  Not sure why cuz'  I am NOT happy w/ the fact they keep pooping everywhere!  And then there is the wasps...they have invaded the garage as well.  They won't hold still long enough for me to wack them...so my next mission is to find the wasp spray and get to work!  But oh, it's soooooo good to be home!!
