Tribute to my Grandma Lanka:)

I haven't posted on this blog since November!  It's not that I haven't sat down and typed stuff...it's just I ALWAYS get interrupted by a little girl or one really cute cowboy!  So, I never get around to posting what I write!  So, I will attempt to get this all writtten and posted in one sitting!

Grandma Lanka turned 80 not long ago...it got me to thinking about alot of things.  It dawned on me as I sat at her party, that she is who I wanted to be when I grew up!  I LOVED being at Grandma's house on the ranch.  I loved EVERYTHING about it!  I was there ALOT!  Grandma was the type of lady who always looked so nice, who always had food on the table, house clean, garden tended, beautiful lawn, time to spend w/ me, rode horses, and worked cattle!  On top of that she drove the mail route...she is just simply an amazing woman!  She did amazing leather tooling and let me tinker w/ the tools sometimes.  She also taught me how to sew... she would be outside working in her garden and I remember taking whatever I was working on out to have her inspect it and most of the time I was sent back in to rip out the stitches and try it again!  She is also a women of amazing faith and was a great wife for Grandpa.  I wanted to share all of this at her party but knew I would bawl like a baby...I hate crying, especially in front of people, so this is my tribute to her!  Thanks Grandma for taking time to teach me all you did...even how to tell when a cow was ready to calve(that's coming in fairly handy!).  Thanks for always letting me ride your horse too!  You mean the world to me!  I love you tons!  God knew I needed you to help me get ready to be married to my cowboy!  I know I have a long ways to go to be like you.  Thanks Grams!
